This project allows students to discover and explore Indigenous Peoples of the World. Students participate in many activities that illuminate the importance of Indigenous Peoples’ connection to the land and their culture, past, present, and future. The project focuses in on Indigenous Peoples from 6 continents: First Nation, Métis, & Inuit of North America; Maya of Central America; Sami of Northern Europe, Maasai of East Africa; Hmong of Southeast Asia; and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders of Australia. The unit was designed to be primarily teacher- or caregiver-led with some independent work completed by the student
